**IMPORTANT** - File Incompatibility Issues with MS Office 2007 and UTAS Labs

MS Office 2007 files are not generically backwards compatibile with previous versions of MS Office (i.e. Office XP or Office 2003), including those currently installed across UTAS lab PC's.

To ensure that you save files that are compatible with the UTAS lab environements please ensure that you make the following changes to your new MS Office 2007 installation:
For example in MS Word 2007:

  • Click the Office logo, in the top left, and then click Word Options.
  • Select the Save Option on the left, then you can change the default Save option to Word 97-2003 Format.

NOTE: You need to make the changes described above in each MS Office 2007 application (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint).
