You can get access to the University network with your own computer when on campus through the University Authenticated Network Access (UANA) network, via a laptop computer with either a wireless network card or a wired network port.
Supported Configurations
Staff and students are able to access UANA with the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4 or better).
- Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 1 or better. Please note that all documentation is for Service Pack 2).
- Macintosh OSX (Panther 10.3 or greater).
Additional Software
Some additional software may be required to connect to UANA. Depending on your software configuration, you may need to install and configure software for authentication.
Anti-virus software is required for all computers connected to the UANA network and can be downloaded as part of the signup/configuration process.

Once correctly connected and configured, staff and students will be able to access the Virtual Office Portal offering the following:
- Internet.
- MyLO.
- Library & Journals.
- UTAS email account.
