UConnect on Campus

  • UConnect - Wired & Wireless (UWW) can be accessed in several departments, and:

  • Campus Maps:

    These maps provide approximate locations of wireless access across the two main UTAS campuses. Coverage may be present in nearby areas, or of lesser quality at the edges of the indicated areas.

  • Anti-virus software is required for all computers connecting to the network with UConnect and can be downloaded if necessary as part of the signup and configuration process.
     
  • Supported Configurations:

    Staff and students are able to use UConnect - Wired & Wireless (UWW) with the following operating systems:

    Service Pack 3 is recommended

    Service Pack2 with WPA2 hotfix or better is required

    Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or better is recommended
    Microsoft Windows 7  
    Macintosh OSX 10.4 (Tiger)

    Latest 10.4 updates are required

    Upgrade is recommended.

    Macintosh OSX 10.5 (Leopard) Latest 10.5 updates are required
    Macintosh OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Latest 10.6 updates are required
    Apple iPod Touch and iPhone (Wi-Fi mode) Version 2 firmware or better is required

    The use of other operating systems, including Linux, "Windows Mobile" or PDA devices, may be compatible with UWW but there is limited support available. To operate with UWW, the OS or device must be able to use WPA2 and PEAP with MSChapV2 Some further details can be found after the registration process.
